Variety Interval Training – Let’s Burn Fat!

by Marianne  - September 20, 2010

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was a strange day, I was out for a meal the night before and both Andrew and I felt very flu-like all day! Thought I might have been getting the cold, but it seems to have past today.  Just as well because I have a lot of sins to burn off LOL

The workout is 24 minutes long, and there are 3 rounds of 8 exercises. It’s a mixture of kettlebells and body weight and, I am also using my new Reebok Deck to enable me to vary my exercises even further.

The Workout

So, I set my Gymboss Interval Timer for 24 cycles of 15 seconds recovery and 45 seconds effort and I completed 3 rounds of the following exercises (my reps per exercise are in brackets):

  1. Kettlebell Goblet Thrusters (17,15,12)
  2. Two-handed KB Swings (29,28,28)
  3. Evil Burpees (13,14,12)
  4. Double KB Step Up (up and down on right leg) (13,14,13)
  5. Double KB Step Up (left) (14,14,13)
  6. Tricep Dips (24,22,21)
  7. Double Kettlebell Box Squats (11,8,7)
  8. Bench Jump-Overs (32,33,30)

This workout was really hard for me today, I felt weaker than usual. Maybe it was the fact that I wasn’t well yesterday, or because I treated myself to more sugary, salty and fatty foods over the weekend and I’m a little sluggish.  All the same this is an excellent fat burning workout. Containing many compound exercises and cardio, to maximise calorie expenditure.

Let me know what you think of the workout and I will be back soon with more.

Cheers

Marianne

  2. This is gonna be the workout that just might become my new favorite. I like the format very much. The workout flows well and utilizes other equipment (Bench) which is a nice change I hope to see more of these styles in the future. Thank you again for such a super job

    1. Thanks Izz, I intend in including more equipment in my workouts as I want my studio to be my own little gym. Just got another weights bench yesterday, so I can include the advanced bulgarian squat and other great exercises in my workouts. I am also getting dumbbells too – loads of kit 😀 Just want to vary everything, so there will be something for everyone.

      Glad you like this workout.

  3. Dear Meso/Endo blogger, this workout looks excellent and I can’t wait to try it (though I think I’ll skip the burpees: I’m still lousy at proper push ups). So thanks 🙂
