Summer Body Blitz

Hi everyone,

The weather is beautiful here, it must be 26 degrees, so I wanted to make the most of it. Just a short post today, but a great full body workout, mainly cardio. Don’t mind the milk bottles (my legs LOL)!

This workout consists of 2 rounds of 8 exercises. It’s interval training, so I set my Gymboss miniMAX Interval Timer for 16 cycles of 20 seconds rest and 40 seconds MAX effort.

This workout is perfect for burning fat!

Here it is:

The 8 exercises are :

  1. Burpees
  2. 2-handed KB Swings
  3. Diagonal Knee Tucks
  4. Single KB Snatches (right)
  5. Single KB Snatches (left)
  6. Plank Climbers
  7. Double KB High Pulls
  8. Pike Push Ups

Not very happy with my left snatches today, very weak form, will have to practice more. Other than that, I think it went well.

Now I’m going to soak up some rays 🙂

    Glad someone can see the sun – it’s very grey over here today. Thanks you’ve just motivated me to train. It’s always hard for me when it’s a bleak day not used to them. Great workout.

    Melissa has converted me to barefeet too. My only issue with it seems to be the slivers I get off the deck….oh well. I have noticed that my balance is slowly getting better and that I haven’t “gone over” on my ankles in ages. Something must be getting better!
    Great workout. I will have to add it in this week!

    On an aside. DH went to the Internal Medicine Doc and they wouldn’t start him on the biological meds as they said that it was not 100% that he has AS. He bone density test was positive but the MRI did not show it. He is very frustrated to say the least. How long did you have to wait before they got you onto the biological? It seem such waste for him to have to wait another year for another MRI when he is so debilitated right now. Sorry for the vent but not many people get what he is going through.

    1. Heather, that is very frustrating! When I had my x-ray (NHS didn’t fork out for a MRI – lol ), it showed some errosion on my SI Joint, but at that time I was only started on Sulfasalazine (a disease modifying drug) and NSAIDs. I was on this for over a year, but this was because the anti-TNF therapy hadn’t been approved for funding here yet. When it was I was assessed for it. I had to wait another year I think before I got it! Everything takes so long, and I was in agony waiting!

      Besides the pain, it’s frustrating to think that permanent damage is being done by constant inflammation! Surely they would start him on it anyway to see if it would help! But I guess it’s all about money too.


  3. Boy oh boy, every time i see you do DB exercise, i get so mad, because i just can’t barely do them even with my wimply 8 # KB. any advice to get stronger?

    1. Hi Tempest, the only advice I have on that note is to try a few exercises with a heavier KB. Pick exercises that you have already perfected technique-wise and just increase the weight. Then try the heavier bell on other exercises, but keep the reps low so you don’t hurt yourself. I’m afraid that’s the only way. I need to start doing more with a 16kg and double 12kg. I have ordered pro-grade 12s and 16s which will hopefully arrive tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to featuring them in my workouts 🙂
